Contemporary Brasserie & Bar welcoming you for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Offering the best in locally sourced and seasonal ingredients, prepared to order and freshly cooked.
The Brasserie
Food is our passion and at The Brasserie we let our passion shine. We select the best produce from local suppliers then freshly prepares these ingredients into great tasting, simply executed dishes.
The small team led by chef/patron, Eliot, cook everything from scratch. Ensuring control of each dish, from preparation to serving, allowing for dietary modifications to be readily made.
Above all, we like you to feel relaxed when dining so you can enjoy traditional favourites as well as more specialised options, from steaks and burgers to curries and veggie risottos – but do make sure you leave room for one of our classic desserts.
Our food is served all year round with menus changing through the seasons. Naturally. North Devon has an abundance of produce and it is our pleasure to present this on every plate for you.
Modern Environment & Excellent Service
Following extensive investment and refurbishment, The Brasserie is the perfect space to enjoy your dining experience.
The well-stocked bar features local ales, a wide gin selection and great value wine list, we have plenty to complement your food.
Our generously proportioned dining room benefits from step free access, floor to ceiling French windows in the summer and a lounge to take advantage of.
Private Dining
We love to offer private dining experiences to customers.
You can book our library for up to six guests dining together for a really intimate private room. Perhaps you’ve a small family gathering and happy to share one of our quieter nooks in the Brasserie itself. Distinct in the space, but secluded enough to enjoy your own company.
When you private dine with us you can enjoy the run of our house menu, or chef will create a special menu tailored to your needs. Just ask when you book.
The Carlton Club
We love to give back to our loyal customers in the local area, so we offer special member benefits and discounts, including money off drinks all year round.
If you aren’t a North Devon local, we don’t want you to feel left out, so we’d like to invite you to join our Carlton Club for Guests.
Great Provenance, Seasonal Produce
We firmly believe in buying local and supporting our county and regional suppliers. This makes sense for many reasons. Not just that it’s better for the environment, but it means quality is better ensured and we can take advantage of market prices on your behalf.
From local fish caught on S&P boats and landed at Appledore, to prime West Country meats from our Muddiford butchers. Exmoor beef from Chris Lerwill’s farm, game from MC Kelly and seasonal vegetables picked at The Great Field in Braunton – we carefully source and choose all our produce.
We love to find new local suppliers, Madrigal Brewery in Lynmouth was a great new discovery.

What Our Customers Say
“Certainly Visiting Again”
“We were recommended Sunday lunch here by neighbours, and we weren’t disappointed. We were looked after by staff who displayed old fashioned courtesy, from taking and hanging up our coats to the very attentive restaurant staff.
The food was absolutely delicious, a measured menu, cooked and seasoned perfectly. The decor and ambiance was second to none, we had an infant with us, and everyone was most accommodating.
We will certainly be visiting again, and can thoroughly recommend it to anyone wanting a substantial Sunday lunch”

“Exceptional & Charming Host”
“Just back from the St Patrick’s Day lunch and what can I say? What a stunning brasserie! Very classy decor and tasteful… wonderful helpful staff…. Nick, Dawn and Sue were certainly working their socks off but still had time to be cheery with each and every diner. The food was exquisite, beautifully presented… and delicious!
Michael was an exceptional and charming host and has without a doubt worked very hard to put this lovely brasserie on the map. I am a local and will be recommending The Brasserie to other locals and friends eager to stay in Ilfracombe.”
